Training Assistance

Your local NCWorks Career Center provides training assistance that helps job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market. This program also matches employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.

This program offers training services for individuals who may need training for the labor market. Those served include:

  • Unemployed Individuals
  • Individuals who have been laid off due to no fault of their own
  • Low Income Job Seekers
  • Youth

If you feel that you would benefit from the services provided through this program, we recommend you register on NCWorks Online and contact your local NCWorks Career Center to meet with a Career Advisor.

How do I know if I’m eligible for Training Assistance?

We have gathered some information to help speed up your eligibility determination process. Please review them and gather the required documentation and have it ready for your first appointment with an NCWorks Career Advisor in person or by phone.

What if I am not eligible for Training Assistance?

If you do not meet the eligibility requirements for training assistance through this program, most colleges provide scholarship and financial aid options. Contact your local community college for information on options such as Federal Student Aid.

Online Training
Grow with Google (Google Career Certifications)

Grow with Google is a suite of flexible online training programs hosted on Coursera. They require no prior relevant experience or degree and are designed to provide learners with job-ready skills in high-growth fields in under six months.

LinkedIn Skills Assessments

The LinkedIn Skill Assessments feature allows you to demonstrate your knowledge of the skills you've added on your profile by completing assessments specific to those skills.

A typical assessment consists of 15 multiple choice questions and each question tests at least one concept or subskill. The questions are timed and must be completed in one session. You can view the full list of available Skill Assessments and sample questions for each.
